Greetings, dear readers,
My name is Aaron Surina, a proud father and resident of Spokane, Washington. Today, I share with you my harrowing journey through the Spokane County Superior Court\’s family division, a system that I believe has lost its essence – to protect and uphold the rights of the most vulnerable in our families: our children.
The tale I recount is not merely mine; it is a silent, echoing cry of countless fathers across the nation. Our voices are unheard, our pain unnoticed, our children\’s well-being jeopardized for the sake of what? Profit. It may seem absurd, but let me shed light on this heartbreaking reality.
As a devoted father, my only pursuit was to offer a safe and nurturing environment for my child. However, following the dissolution of my marriage, I found myself entangled in the web of family court proceedings. That was when the relentless nightmare began, a nightmare that would ultimately become a battle against a system structured to profit off child support orders, grossly overlooking the welfare of our children.
In these courtrooms, where justice should hold sway, I observed a different reality. The scales were tilted, favoring the party who could contribute more to the coffers of the court through child support payments. The more the court could extract, the more they favored. It was not about my child\’s best interests; it was about the money.
The most heart-rending part of my journey was the blind eye turned to allegations of abuse. In my case, substantial concerns about my child\’s safety were dismissed, neglected, effectively buried beneath the weight of financial transactions. It felt like a grotesque auction, where the highest bidder gets the prize, and the prize was my child\’s innocence, their peace, their security.
Yet, I stand before you today, not to lament my misfortune but to expose an injustice. An injustice that has stolen countless children\’s laughter and forced countless fathers into despair. I stand to reform a system that prioritizes profit over protection, financial gain over a child\’s well-being.
However, my friends, in the face of such adversity, I urge you not to lose hope. This battle is not for the faint-hearted, but it is one we must fight together. I believe in the power of our collective voices, our united determination to seek justice, and our shared love for our children.
The journey might be steep, and the hurdles may seem insurmountable, but remember, every sunrise promises a new day, a new opportunity to fight for our children\’s welfare. Let us stand shoulder to shoulder, reshaping this flawed system and reclaiming our children\’s right to a safe, loving environment.
Spokane, it\’s time we call for a revolution. A revolution that tears down the walls of a skewed judicial system, replacing it with one that truly upholds justice, safeguards our children\’s interests, and holds the well-being of families above all else.
In hope and solidarity,
Aaron Surina
